College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine

Full time: 40 hours per week

Applications are invited for the University’s prestigious Regius Chair of Medical Science, which is vacant following the retirement of Sir John Savill.

The Opportunity:

We are seeking to appoint an outstanding medical scientist to the post. This role complements CMVMs expert Deans to bring together a transformative vision across disciplines that will help college grow and shape our research capability to achieve maximal impact and societal benefit.

The postholder will report to the Head of College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine and support the College Dean of Research. The Regius Chair will be a member of the College Senior Leadership Team and member of the College Research Committee.

We anticipate NHS Lothian will offer an honorary consultant contract for applicants who remain clinically active.

We welcome applications from everyone irrespective of gender or ethnic group. As women and members of ethnic minorities are currently under-represented in posts at this level we particularly encourage applications from members of these groups.
